(I'd Go The) Whole Wide World by Wreckless Eric

This week's single of the month is '(I'd Go the) Whole Wide World' by Wreckless Eric.

You know when you get a song stuck in your head and you can't think of anything else?

Well, the Germans call that an ohrwurm, or earworm.

NEW WAVE WONDERS
And right now I've got one the size of the Ritz wriggling about in my external acoustic meatus, banging its head against my tympanic membrane like a crazed Keith Moon on PCP.

Not that I mind because the tune in question is (I'd Go the) Whole Wide World by Wreckless Eric.

And trust me, it's a corker.

And what's more, here it is now, embedded on the tune-tastic Rake & Herald from NewWaveWonders' YouTube channel, which, as the name suggests, is well worth checking out indeed.

AND THERE'S MORE
Bloody ace or what?

In fact, here's a couple more Wreckless Eric tunes from the respective YouTube channels of satisfactorman and ryanisfun123.

First up, it's the heartfelt Veronica, followed by the more up-tempo and completely fan-flippin'-ace There Isn't Anything Else.

But don't worry because there is actually quite a lot else in the guise of a sodding brilliant Granada TV/Channel 4 doc from a few years back that I found on DBullock.com's YouTube channel and which is abso-totally-lutely jam-packed with top-notch punk and new wave classics from 1976-8.

But enough of me.

Take it away, Wreckless Eric…
