Springtime for a pint: And this is what it looks like. Possibly. (Check bottom for credit)

Winter officially over as US Brewers Association (BA) releases list of seasonal spring craft beers.

The BA has now published a list of spring seasonal craft beers produced by some of its 2,000+ brewery members.

Available to view on the BA's website, the list includes such brews as Bell's Smitten Golden Rye Ale (Bell's Brewery; Comstock & Kalamazoo, Michigan); A Honey of a Saison (Boulder Beer Company; Boulder, Colorado); Glimmerglass (Brewery Ommegang; Cooperstown, New York); Orabelle (Great Divide Brewing Company; Denver, Colorado); and Lazy Saison (Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company; Kiln, Mississippi) to name just five.

According to a BA press release, many of the spring craft beers listed boast "ingredients such as speciality malted barley, wheat, oats and fruits, including grapefruit, orange, pineapple and mango, which provide balanced refreshment and full flavour".

"Now more than ever spring craft beers are anticipated and sought after by beer lovers everywhere," says Julia Herz, publisher and BA craft beer programme director.

"These beers are reflective of the innovative nature of today's small and independent craft brewers."

And they probably taste pretty good too.
