Eat yer heart out!

A tasty treat: Celebrate Valentine's Day in style this year. (Check bottom for credit)

Not sure how to celebrate St Valentine's Day? Naader 'Freak8r' Reda has a few video-tastic food suggestions.

The invitations have already been sent out.

In less than a week, some 20+ YouTube channels will join me in a videographic celebration of Valentine's Day.

The theme is hearts, but that doesn't mean we'll all be stuffing our faces with pounds and pounds of sickeningly sweet chocolate.

I'm hoping to spark the creativity in my fellow competitive (and not-so-competitive) eaters when they work on their projects.

You can focus on heart health, for example.

This could even be a forum for storytelling, though hopefully everyone also eats something in the process.

In typical fashion, I suspect loneliness, heavy hearts, broken hearts and cold hearts will be well represented in the videos that are developed.

One friend joked about eating a gallon (3.8 litres) of strawberry ice cream in protest of being alone on V-Day.

At any rate, some entertaining material will be produced by all this February 14.

I hope everyone comes to take a look and if you'd like, it's not too late to join the fun yourself.

Just contact me (see biog below for details) and you can put your own twist on the heart-centric video antics.

It's YouTube, so even if no one laughs at you, you can always just laugh at yourself.

And afterwards, why not pop out for an intimate slice of pizza?

You can see more acts of fearless freak eating and digestional derring-do at Freak8r's YouTube channel here and/or read about them on his blog.

Naader 'Freak8r' Reda
is a California-based competitive eater with a pedigree as long as a docker's tea break. In 2011, in addition to competing in numerous contests and championships, he set himself the gargantuan goal of taking on 100 eating challenges across North America. He won 97. In recognition of this, All Pro Eating crowned him the World's Top Food Challenger. The man can eat. But more than that, he can also write. As such, the Rake & Herald is truly honoured to also crown him the World's Top Competitive Eating Editor. The dude's a dude, dude. And if you're still not convinced, get a load of this. In addition to being a phenomenal gurgitator, Freak8r also teaches history to high school students. We reckon his lessons must be ace. Heck, if he were our teacher, we'd even do our homework. Some of the time.

Freak8r can be contacted via Twitter here or by sending us an email that we'll wrap up in brown paper and hoik over to him by carrier pigeon and/or dog sled. Or maybe we'll just forward it to him. Whatever's easier, really.

WARNING! Competitive eating can be dangerous. As well as choking hazards there is also the possibility of poisoning yourself, something that could lead to hospitalisation, permanent health damage and even death. Don't believe us? Read this. Consequently, the Rake & Herald does not recommend you try emulating the above video(s) yourself. Seriously. We are NOT joking. You have been warned.
